Refugee Relief Efforts

Find out ways you can help refugees resettling from Afghanistan here.

Well over 8,000 Afghan refugees are now being housed at Fort Lee, including men, women, children, and even a baby who was born on base just 48 hours ago! The majority of the people arrived with just the clothes on their backs and are in need of essential clothes, toiletries and toys for their children.

We are partnering with ForRichmond and ReEstablish Richmond to help refugees coming from Afghanistan. Check out the ways you can support these efforts below.

Support For Afghan Evacuation

Here's a recent message from ReEstablish on their Refugee Relief efforts:

"ReEstablish Richmond continues to live out its mission by connecting already resettled Afghans to the resources and support they need to help their family members flee Afghanistan. While our staff and volunteers are actively supporting folks both here and in Afghanistan, we are collecting resources and information that will be on our website in the upcoming week.

To support this response, we are launching a Support Afghan Evacuation Campaign with the goal to raise $30,000 by the end of October so that we can respond to the current crisis and support the long term needs of newly evacuated Afghans who choose to resettle in Richmond.
